CNC Precision Punching

As part of the cutting stage in metal manufacturing, punching is the first process in our manufacturing line.  Punching metal is where a piece of sheet metal is cut into a specified flat shape ready for further precision manufacturing processes. When cutting sheet metal, there are two options: Laser cutting and CNC sheet metal punching. Punch profiling sheet metal is potentially a faster and more cost-effective method than laser cutting, depending on part complexity and batch size. Simpler profiles and larger volumes are ideally suited to punching.  An additional benefit is that punching machines can generate simple formed features such as dimples, louvres, logo indentations and knock-outs, thus avoiding the need for additional operations. Whether it be steel, aluminium, copper, brass or stainless-steel sheet metal, we offer CNC metal punching for components or finished products that are an accurate and cost-effective solution for a wide variety of applications.

Wenda Sheet Metal have been working in the metal fabrication industry, punching steel, for over 30 years there isn’t much that we haven’t seen or done. We have invested in the best punching machines on the market over this time and our latest investment again proves why we are a leader in the sheet metal punching industry so do get in touch to discuss your sheet metal cutting requirements.

PUNCH, BEND, TAP & FORM ON A SINGLE MACHINE

Punch, bend, tap and form all on a single machine. The PX-Series punch press offers the ultimate in flexible production to handle even complex, three-dimensional parts. Its tool changer design features all-tool rotation – each tool can rotate a full 360 degrees. With a capacity of up to 200 tools, the ability to use any tool at any angle anywhere on the sheet, and the ability to form flanges up to 75 mm high, the PX-Series machine offers complete versatility.

Our CNC punching machine has every optional extra which allows us to use all the latest innovations in tooling technology, and incorporates the latest technology for superior performance in processing small, medium and large sheets. This is helped by our large range of tooling which is continuously added to and updated. Tooling maintenance is achieved in house using the latest Trumpf Quick Sharp technology.

Using computer-assisted part nesting also allows maximum material utilisation. CNC punching allows simple forming, ventilation louvres, countersinking and tapping (threading)operations as well as folding flanges up to 75mm high to be carried out during the same cycle, therefore saving the need for setting up secondary operations.
